This course is a continuation and extension of the Integrated Algebra R and Geometry R courses that preceded it. This series prepares the students for success in Pre-Calculus and AP Statistics and/or AP Calculus. Students will represent and analyze algebraically a variety of problems. Within this course, the number system will be extended to include imaginary and complex numbers. The families of functions to be studied will include polynomial, absolute value, radical, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Problem situations involving direct and indirect variation will be solved. Problems resulting in systems of equations will be solved graphically and algebraically. Data analysis will be extended to include measures of dispersion and the analysis of regression that model functions studied throughout this course. Right triangle trigonometry will be expanded to include the investigation of circular functions. Problem situations requiring the use of trigonometric equations and identities will also be investigated. Graphing Calculators will be required for use by the student. The course will conclude with the Algebra 2 & Trigonometry Regents exam

  • The course emphasizes understanding of broad concepts rather than memorization of science facts. Key Ideas covered include: Mechanics, Energy, Electricity and Magnetism, Waves, and Modern Physics. Historical content, uncertainty in measurement, significant figures and SI units are included in the introduction of the core. In addition the material on the Physics Reference Tables is considered part of the core curriculum and is testable. The course culminates with a Regents exam. Students must successfully complete 1,200 minutes of NY State mandated hands-on laboratory exercises in order to be eligible to sit for the exam. A satisfactory laboratory write-up is the criteria for successful completion of the lab exercise. (LAB REQUIRED)

  • AP Calculus AB course is devoted to topics in differential and integral calculus. The AP course covers topics in these areas, including concepts and skills of limits, derivatives, definite integrals, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. This course teaches students concepts and problems when they are represented graphically, numerically, analytically and verbally, and to make connections amongst these representations.

Instruction: Blended – Online & Live Dialogs

    Cost: $149

  • AP Calculus BC is roughly equivalent to a first and second semester college calculus course and extends the content learned in AB to in different types of equations and introduces the topic of sequence and series. The AP course covers topics in these areas, including concepts and skills of limits, derivatives, definite integrals, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.

Instruction: Blended – Online & Live Dialogs
